It is hard to find the right acne solution. Both body and facial acne are both genetic, so if your mother and/or father had it, chance are you‘ll get it. Usually people with facial acne also get some body acne. Because skin on the body is tougher than facial skin, the acne you experience on your body can sometimes be more severe and harder to get rid of.

Unfortunately the exact cause of acne is unknown. What is known is that any kind of irritation to the skin can cause an outburst of acne. Rubbing up against different things can cause acne. Simply be aware of the things you come into contact with day to day.

Hormones may also play a role in acne breakouts. This is why acne typically occurs during the teenage years, as your body is going through the maturing process, and hormone levels and makeups are changing all of the time.

Acne Control Tips

Cleanliness can also be an issue when it comes to acne control. You should try and keep your hair clean and off of your neck and face whenever possible. If you work out, be sure and have a shower as soon as possible and put on fresh clothing. The clothing you wear should be loose and comfortable, allowing your body to breathe. When in the shower, do not rub your body too hard as this will irritate your skin. There are even clothes you can buy that help draw the moisture (sweat) away from your skin. Amazingly sometimes using a wash cloth on your face is not the best acne cleanser, as it irritates your pores more than it helps. Wash your face sparingly and never use soap with perfumes in it.

Stress can also have an effect on acne, although this is not something that you should worry about. The most effective acne treatment when it comes to stress is to not let little things bother you. Focus on other ways you can control your acne.

Sun exposure can sometimes help with acne in the short term, but is not a long term acne solution. The sun actually damages your skin over time. You should always avoid any other skin damage during the process of treating your acne problem.

There have been many studies trying to link diet, exercise and acne. Some studies show that diet does have an effect on acne problems, others show that there is no connection whatsoever. Obviously more studies are necessary before we can say with any confidence that eating a specific diet would be any kind of acne remedy. At the very least, drink lots of water and get some regular exercise. It may not help your acne, but it has all kinds of other health benefits that are worth it.

Body Acne and Back Acne

Although acne is most common during the teenage years, it is becoming more and more common to see adults of all ages with facial acne or body acne. Sometimes back acne is referred to as "bacne". This is happening to more people because the pores on the back are larger than on other parts of your body and therefore clog with oil more easily. People with back acne should try and avoid carrying heavy objects on their backs such as heavy backpacks. This will only rub and irritate the skin more, causing your back acne to get worse.

Acne Cleanser

When using an acne cleanser, remember to be gentle when applying it. Try to pick a cleanser that is good for sensitive skin. This will minimize the irritation. After applying the acne medicine of your choice, it is always good to use a moisturizer to make sure your skin does not get too inflamed by the acne treatment. Sometimes after treating your body acne, using a soothing, cooling body mist helps keep the pain of inflammation away.

Best Acne Treatment

What acne products to use? There are many good products on the market that are safe and effective. Looking around on the internet, reading reviews, reading peoples personal experiences, these are all things that you should do before you buy something.
